Biography

Just out of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona where she completed her undergraduate degree in International Relations, Mary Alison McLean began her working life in the class room as a teacher at Knox Community College. Since that time her career trajectory has seen her take up positions primarily in the education, human services and social development fields in Jamaica, the UK and the USA.

She is the founding CEO of the Child Development Agency (CDA) and a former Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, UWI Mona. Her most recent appointment is Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.
