On November 7-11, 2022, Argentina will host the XV Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean [1], the United Nations’ main regional, intergovernmental forum on women’s rights and gender equality, which for the last 45 years has been bringing together representatives of governments, international organizations, academia and civil society – particularly, women’s and feminist movements.
The main theme of the meeting – which is organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) – is “The care society: a horizon for sustainable recovery with gender equality.”
At this event, ECLAC will present the position document The care society: A horizon for sustainable recovery with gender equality, and two other reports are scheduled to be launched on the financing of care systems and policies in Latin America and the Caribbean, and on the implementation of the information systems pillar of the Montevideo Strategy for Implementation of the Regional Gender Agenda within the Sustainable Development Framework by 2030.
