Biography

Director General of the National Statistics Office of the Dominican Republic and President of the Statistical Conference of the Americas. A Dominican economist graduated from INTEC in 1993, she holds Master's degrees in Economic Policy, Gender and Development, and Human Development from prestigious universities in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Colombia. With more than 20 years of research experience, she has worked in regional integration, public policy and sustainable human development. She has been Executive Director of the Caribbean Center for Economic Research (CIECA).

As Technical Secretary for Women of the Council of Women's Ministers of Central America and the Dominican Republic, she coordinated the design of the first regional policy on gender equality and equity. Her work focuses on mainstreaming the gender perspective in public policies.
