Ambassador Emeritus of Mexico. She was the first woman in the history of the Mexican Foreign Service to be granted the title of Eminent Ambassador. She served as Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs (2021–2023) and has held ambassadorial posts in Nicaragua, Guatemala, as Permanent Representative of Mexico to the Organization of American States (OAS), and in Costa Rica. At the multilateral level, she was a member of the Advisory Group to United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan. She also served as Director-General of the United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (2003–2008) and later as Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission of Women of the OAS (2009–2019).
