Reservations must be made directly with the chosen hotel by submitting the attached reservation form before the indicated expiry date, after which point the hotels reserve the right to change the rate and cannot guarantee room availability.

Members of delegations are responsible for making their own reservations and are advised to contact the hotel to confirm that their requests have been processed and to request a reservation number or confirmation code.

Hotels will require a credit card number to hold reservations. In Mexico, there is a no-show policy in effect that allows guests to cancel any reservation up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date; any cancellation within 48 hours of the reservation will result in the guest being charged for the first night. Guests are to submit payment directly to the hotel at the end of their stay.

5. Requirements for entering Mexico

Participants are responsible for completing all immigration procedures to enter the country. All foreign citizens must have a valid and current passport. Whether or not a visa is required to enter Mexico depends on the traveller's type of passport and country of origin, among other factors, as detailed below.

Please note that Mexico does not under any circumstances issue visas at ports of entry.

Immigration information

Foreign citizens with a passport and any of the following documents do not require a Mexican visa:

I. Valid and current multiple-entry visa from Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom or any Schengen area country;

II. Permanent resident card in Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, any Schengen area country or any of the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia and Peru);

III. Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum Business Travel Card (ABTC), approved by Mexico.

Foreign visitors may be asked to provide any of the following additional information to immigration officials upon entering the country:

I. Valid and current passport or identification;

II. Personal information;

III. Reason for visit (must correspond to the visa issued, if necessary). If you are traveling as a tourist, you will be asked to provide proof of financial solvency and a hotel reservation (preferably paid); you may also be required to provide proof of your place of residence and birth;

IV. Address and duration of stay in the country. Be prepared to present a round-trip ticket and provide a hotel reservation that matches the dates of your stay in the country;

V. Information related to the activities to be carried out in the country and those carried out in your home country;

VI. Financial solvency during your stay in the country. Possession of an international credit card is advisable.

Upon entry into Mexico, you will receive a stamped form from the immigration official; keep that document, as you will need to submit it to immigration officials when you leave the country.

After registration, participants will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. Once the registration request has been approved, a “confirmation of acceptance” email is sent with a QR code, which must be presented along with an identification document when picking up credentials.
