XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean

From a very young age, she has dedicated her life to social causes, working in non-governmental organizations focused on promoting democracy, protecting nature, and ensuring equal rights, with an emphasis on girls, women, and vulnerable populations. She served as both a local and federal legislator, and as Vice President of the Constituent Assembly of Mexico City, she played a key role in drafting and approving the capital’s first Constitution. She also stood out for her leadership as Mayor of Iztapalapa. Her urban interventions have been recognized by the UN as high-impact models for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
