Biography
Expert of the CEDAW Committee. She holds a PhD in Legal Sciences from the University of Havana, Cuba (2020), a Master’s degree in Sexuality from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana (2004), and a Law degree from the University of Havana (1993). She is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana (UH), Vice President of the National Board of the Cuban Society of Civil and Family Law of the National Union of Cuban Jurists (UNJC), and Coordinator of the project “Justice through a Gender Lens: Guaranteeing Equality between Women and Men” of the UNJC. She is a family mediator and a mediator of the Cuban Court of International Commercial Arbitration of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce. She serves as Vice President of the National Union of Cuban Jurists (UNJC) and is a member of the National Committee of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC). She is also a member of the Advisory Council of the American Association of Jurists (AAJ).
