Costa Rican lawyer, admitted to the Costa Rican Bar Association in 2018. A person with a physical disability and user of a powered wheelchair, she began her activism in 2009 as a pioneer in promoting the philosophy of Independent Living in Costa Rica and Latin America, participating in the creation of the region’s first Independent Living Center. She has served as secretary of COINDIS and of the Citizen Participation Movement of the Chorotega Region, and since 2018 has been president of the Morpho Independent Living Center. She is co-founder of RELAVIN and currently represents Latin America in the World Independent Living Network.
